Powerful women infuse positivity daily
THE Zululand Businesswomen’s Association on Thursday hosted a Mother’s Day networking breakfast. Speaking at the event, founder of I Do magazine, Felicia Buthelezi, encouraged women to always infuse positivity into their lives.
‘Every morning when I wake up, I tell myself every day that I am a powerful woman, I am a successful woman, I am beautiful and I am all that God has created me to be.
‘I feed the positive into my life, I set out expectations for the day and I do not entertain any negativity,’ she said.
Buthelezi, who became an entrepreneur at the age of 22, said she learnt to embrace every season of her life.
‘I aligned myself with everything I wanted to achieve. People doubted me when I started my business. They would question my knowledge of business, but I didn’t feed the negativity. I knew where I wanted to see myself in the future.
‘That is why today I stand firm and say I am a successful businesswoman. I know that if you want to build something of substance there are no short cuts. But never confuse a season with a lifetime,’ she said.
She also highlighted the importance of setting priorities.
‘I chose to be a businesswoman, a wife and mother, but my family comes first. The rest will follow. It all starts at home,’ she said.
Buthelezi also reminded women not to neglect themselves.
‘We often get caught up in the role of being a mother and a businesswoman to such an extent that we forget to look after our health.’
