RICHARDS Bay residents Kishore Maniram and Sunker Jugdeo, who have faced incitement to commit murder charges since 2014, were found not guilty when the matter was finalised in the Empangeni Magistrates Court earlier this month and they were discharged.

Initially charged with conspiracy to murder, the charge against the accused was later changed to incitement to commit murder.

Information from the charge sheet alleged that the two men had conspired with Zwelathe Tembe in July and August 2011, and then Thulani Myeni between

January and March 2014, to kill Pastor Daniel Munsami, the senior Pastor of New Life Church in Brackenham.

After four years, the accused are relieved that this matter is over.

Welcoming the sentencing, Senior Pastor of Hands of Mercy, Luis Meneon, under the South African Evangelistic Mission(SAEM), said they were satisfied with the outcome and that their congregation members Kishore Maniram and Sunker Singh were pronounced not guilty.

‘These brothers and their families went through uncalled for emotional pain due to being falsely accused.

‘We had total confidence in their innocence from day one that they were not guilty.

‘Both Maniram and Singh are pioneers of the Brackenham community and are in good standing with the community as leaders,’ said Meneon.
