Corporate leads revamp for Bay school
EXCITEMENT at Richards Bay High is mounting as the school's hospitality presentation room undergoes a major revamp thanks to sponsorship received from Foskor.
Led by Foskor, the initiative will see the hospitality presentation room and school restaurant, Fleur de Lur, receive a facelift with an appealing neutral theme to accommodate various themes.
Modifications will also include an open floor plan with preparation room and mini bar, new floor finishes to replace the carpets, new lighting, access doors, and remodelling of the kitchenette and bar area.
A social networking evening was held at the school last week to unveil the project and showcase it to local businesses and stakeholders in an appeal to seek further support.
The guests were hosted by the hospitality department, and treated to a three course meal and drinks prepared by the pupils.
Principal Herman Muller thanked local businesses for their support on behalf of the 1 000 learners at the school who hail from various communities.
"We appeal to local businesses, especially in the line of our revamp, to partner with and help us complete this project which will see our hospitality venue eventually catering up to 100 people and become a venue to host events.
"The additional scope of work will include outdoor seating and lighting, a walkin fridge, new shelving and gas stoves, new signage, and much more to enhance the facility.
"We are excited about this initiative and look forward to preparing our learners for the working world and opportunities in the hospitality and tourism sector," he said.
