Gog’Sangweni climbs the charts with DJ Yamza

FROM maskandi to Afro-house groovy music, home-grown singer Zethu Sangweni (37) aka Gog’ Sangweni can do it all.

The Zululand artist proved her versatilit­y when she released her latest work titled Maye, featuring DJ Yamza of Big Nuz’s hit

According to Gog’ Sangweni, the song celebrates blessings from God.

"He has been blessing me with success in my music, and with fans who appreciate it. I have been very fortunate to have the support of many people that is also a blessing."

This new musical contributi­on comes some months after she released her EP, which included two Afro-house tracks Livumile Idlozi and Ngizokutha­nda, as well as Afro-gospel hits Hallelujah and Ngivumela

Abalele.

About Gog’ Sangweni

Originally from Vryheid, now living in Richards Bay, Gog' Sangweni launched her music career only last year, but she is already an establishe­d artist.

She has released two full albums: Umthandazo Wami and Ngibambe Ngesandla, each with 10 tracks, and has composed and recorded songs such as Africa Single, Khala Zome, Isiqalile Iyagqilaza, and Nompumelel­o.

The spirituall­y gifted singer has shared the stage with some top musicians and performed at numerous Zululand spots.

While this developing singer is a qualified engineer with diplomas in analytical chemistry and engineerin­g from Durban University of Technology (DUT), art remains her true passion.

In addition to singing,

Gog Sangweni is a poet, motivation­al speaker, author, actress, fashion designer, composer and playwright.

She hopes to grow her talent and spread it to the rest of the world, while highlighti­ng the importance of ancestral spirituali­ty.
