Bay SPCA vehicle fundraiser in motion
AFTER the theft and write-off of Richards Bay SPCA’s only working vehicle, the cash-strapped NPO needs your help to buy a new set of wheels.
Employ the spirit of giving this festive season, and help the SPCA’s inspectors get back on the road in a reliable vehicle suitable for their needs.
Hatfield Isuzu Richards Bay has come on board and generously offered to arrange at cost, an entry-level 1.9 turbodiesel double cab bakkie with canopy, bin liner and tow bar.
These requirements are owing to the nature of the SPCA’s work in transporting animals, navigating badly-rutted rural gravel roads and pathways to reach injured or trapped cattle and other animals, and towing a trailer.
Steven Whittaker from Hatfield Isuzu Richards Bay has given an estimated costing of R529 000.
The SPCA received an insurance payout of R92 000 for their old vehicle, which has kick started the bakkie kitty, but the balance must be fundraised.
As funds come in, the bakkie fund thermometer will be updated to reflect the amount raised, and great celebrations will be had when the full amount is achieved.
Donate in your personal capacity, or urge your business to donate and challenge others in the same industry to follow suit.
Whether individuals, businesses or corporates, the SPCA is appealing to the community's generous nature one more time.
For donations to the value of R50 000 or above, the SPCA will display the name on the new vehicle.
