Pothole offenders’ list grows
WHILE numerous potholes across the City of uMhlathuze have been repaired since the launch of the ZO's 'The Hole Truth' safer roads campaign, some stubbornly remain on the list of offenders, while new ones are added daily.
The Kerk Street pothole outside Hollywoodbets is a case in point, having remained steadfast on the offenders' list since the outset - growing seemingly by the day.
Thanks to the valiant efforts of residents participating in 'The Hole Truth' call-toaction pothole campaign, the initiative is having the desired effect.
The recent surge in the number of potholes featured in the campaign is the highest to date.
Copper Drive potholes outside the casino, and those on Louis Botha Avenue have been repaired.
Some on Kelly Road and Farewell Road have been repaired, while their neighbours
live to fight another day.
This campaign is proof that collaborative effort between residents and the City of uMhlathuze yields results.
Hibiscus Road, Kudu Avenue, Moth Street, Kerk Street, Freesia Drive, Cedar Street, the corner of Kelly and Pretorius roads, Kelly Road, Edwin Aldrin Road, Farewell Road, Eland Crescent, Link Road, President Swart Avenue, McDivitt Avenue, Frank Bull Road, Davies Crescent and Anthony Crescent in Empangeni remain on the offenders’ list.
Newly added are Armstrong Avenue, Watsonia Road and Aloe Drive in Empangeni.
