Coal exporter fuels local welfare organisations
IT was a case of ‘thanks a million
– and more’ when no fewer than 32 beneficiaries were recipients of significant RBCT Annual Standard Donations on Thursday.
Despite the falling volume of coal exports, the company not only continued to bless the NPO organisations, but this year added a new recipient.
“Our commitment to the community has not changed,” RBCT CEO Alan Waller told guests at the special function where a staggering amount of
R1.276000 was donated.
“It is through you [the recipients] that we are able to make a difference to people in our communities. I am grateful to our CSI committee members who make the decisions as to which worthy organisations we should fund.”
Commenting on the new recipient, Nawe Zifunze Disabled Organisation, Waller said RBCT was providing more training opportunities for the disabled.
CSI committee members Zilungile Duma said the function ‘celebrates the generosity and compassion that brings us together as a community’.
“Our donations, together with your time, expertise, and resources combine to give hope. By working together, this leads to positive outcomes and a better world now and in the future.
“As much as RBCT cares for the wellbeing of our employees, this also extends to the community,” said Duma.
Two recipient groups voiced appreciation on behalf of all, conforming that RBCT fostered important change in communities.
