Quality education rewarded

AT the recent Department of Education’s Mhlabathini circuit awards ceremony, young and upcoming Ondini High School teachers received top honours.

Teachers of the Year awards went to Mrs M Oosthuysen (primary schools) and Mr B Ncube (high schools).

Trophies for a hundred percent pass rate were also presented to Mrs S Koekman (isiZulu), Mrs I Vermaak (English first additional language), Mr J Taljaard (life orientation), Mr W Zvomuya (maths literacy) and Mr E Marodza (history).

Vermaak also received an award for the principal whose school obtained an above 80% pass and was also named the Principal of the Year (qualitatively).

Vermaak dedicated this award to every staff member of both Ulundi Independent School and Ondini High School.
