Ever increasing Everstar product range
Everstar Industries, and its local agent Powerstar Empangeni, is on the move and busy increasing its product range and market share.
A new range of light- to medium-duty trucks is about to join the existing range of heavy duty construction vehicles, with the local launch set to be held at the Umfolozi Hotel, Casino and Convention Resort on 18 May.
Expanding range
Bob Wang, Chief Executive Officer of Everstar Industries (Pty) Ltd, is highly excited about the company’s new venture.
Speaking recently at the Everstar assembly plant in Pietermaritzburg, Wang said: ‘We’ll continue to introduce more of our own brands from China, like adding products to our Powerstar brand.
‘This will increase our own brand representation beyond the current 50% of our portfolio.
‘While we will maintain focus on our volume sellers, tippers and water tankers, we will be in a new position to magnify our market penetration in mining and construction, as well as a number
of other sectors,’ said Wang.
Rodney Selesnick, Senior Head of Sales responsible for truck sales at Everstar Industries, shed more light on the newest venture with Foton trucks:
‘We’re aiming for 600 to
650 units for the year, which excludes sales of our latest Powerstar FT range of mediumweight trucks, originally from Foton.
‘The Powerstar FT range is in the same high-quality technology
bracket as our other Powerstars.
‘The range is powered primarily by Cummins engines feeding torque through ZF transmissions.
‘This provides us with a new range of suitable genetics and pedigree joining our stable, said Selesnick.
He added that the Powerstar FT build quality at the Pietermaritzburg plant, as well as the aftermarket parts and service, will be at the same exacting quality standards as is the case for the current Powerstar range.
Local agent
Speaking to Autodealer, owner of Powerstar Empangeni, Jay Reddy, said the addition of light- to medium-duty trucks opens new doors for the brand in Zululand and, because these vehicles are so well priced, will also open new doors for those in the trucking industry.
According to Jay, robust products and good after sales service have given Powerstar a strong following in the area, especially in the construction field and, with the new FT range of light to medium sized trucks, Powerstar Empangeni will apply the same principles - providing a good product and good back-up.
Jay added that the first of the new FT series trucks are set to arrive soon and all fleet owners with light and medium transport requirements can give Powerstar Empangeni a call to learn what these new trucks have to offer.
