RH Construction King Cetshwayo (KCCD) recorded a solid 60-run victory over Chatsworth Sporting in their Premier League T20 encounter at Addison Park on Sunday.

KCCD opted to bat first and posted a defendable tally of 137/5.

Openers Ashlone Chibvuri (29 off 28) and captain Jason Redinger (27) got the home side off to a great start before Chatsworth broke the partnership.

Dale van der Merwe entered the fold and smashed the ball to all areas of the park during his more than a run-a-ball 32 off 27.

His 41-minute innings was ended when he was caught by Theesan Naicker off Sumir Singh's bowling.

Simon Savides contributed an unbeaten 27.

The pick of the visitors' bowling attack was Adam Farrar, who ended with figures of 2/16 in 3.

Despite all the efforts of the Chatsworth

Sporting batting line-up, they fell short of the target, ending on 77/9.

Top scorer was Jeyto Bezuidenhout, who looked comfortable at the crease before being forced to retire hurt on 25 after tweaking his hamstring.

King Cetshwayo speed merchant Neill Jordan utilised his height and speed to record figures of 3/19 in 3, with an economy of 6.3 runs per over.

Left-arm orthodox spinner Stephan Joubert also jumped in on the wicket action with figures of 2/16 in 4.

Jordan Graven, Van der Merwe, Marc Shorkend and Redinger picked up one wicket each.

The district side will enjoy a two-week break before they take on African Warriors at Kingsmead on 31 October in their last T20 encounter.

The team will then compete in the 50 over format after that.
