‘Bulldozer’ to represent SA in Spain
ZULULAND-BASED bodybuilder Sabelo Maxwell 'Bulldozer' Nxumalo (34) continues to blaze a trail, earning his spot at the IFBB Men's World Championships later this year.
He will compete in the senior men's under 65kg division in Spain this November.
The eSikhaleni resident recently bagged three awards at the International Federation of Bodybuilding Fitness (IFBB) National Championships held at the Walter Sisulu Sport Hall in Johannesburg.
Bulldozer has also won the Best Coach, and two consecutive Sportsman of the Year awards (2021 and 2022), in addition to leading Team USSA (University Sports South Africa) to 6th position at this year’s championships this month.
Commenting on the upcoming tournament, he said: “I am super ready for the competition and am ready to share the stage with the big boys. This competition can be incredibly tough because there are highquality, world-class athletes also competing for their countries. But I will keep my head up and give my best.”
Nxumalo was introduced to weightlifting by a friend in 2014, and has never looked back – travelling the world and dominating in bodybuilding competitions.
He owns a weight training club called Max's Team Body Building, where he trains aspiring bodybuilders.
In the summer of 2019, he started an initiative called ‘Summer Bodies in Motion’ where he encouraged people of all ages to be active and lead healthy lifestyles.
Covering the costs for the upcoming competition will require sponsorship and Nxumalo is calling on any generous donors to contact him on 074 7400885.
