Farming with Zululand’s best

- Val van der Walt

RITCHIE Farm Equipment recently took top place in the Best of Zululand Readers' Choice Awards Best Farm Equipment category, after having received the most votes from the public.

The 2024 win is number 14 for this Zululand business, which is a monumental achievement.

Paul Mannix, dealer principal of Ritchie Farm Equipment, say he's elated but at the same time humbled by the community's choice.

"A big thank you to everybody who voted for us. “We will show our gratitude by continuing to provide Zululand's farmers with the best products and the best service," said Mannix.

Ritchie Farm Equipment sales executive Errol 'Mfundisi' Boulle, added that they always strive to meet clients' needs.

"And we will continue to go above and beyond for Ritchie Farm's clients", said Boulle.

The agricultural side of Ritchie Auto predates the automotive side, Ritchie Farm Equipment having opened its doors in 1944, making it one of Zululand's oldest businesses.

With New Holland as its main brand, Ritchie Farm Equipment supplies modern, purpose-built tractors and numerous other agricultural implements to the sugar cane, macadamia and general farming sectors.

The business recently relocated from Rex Henderson Road in Empangeni, where it was situated for many years, to the Ritchie Auto dealership complex in Maxwell Street, alongside Ford and Mazda.

"With this move, Ritchie Farm Equipment is farming forward and into the future, and we aim to provide our clients with even better sales and aftersales service from our new shop," said Mannix.
