Perennizar la base industrial española / Ensuring Spanish manufacturing base continuance

A principios de mayo, el presidente de la nueva matriz de Opel, Carlos Tavares visitó España, coincidiendo con el lanzamiento del Crossland X y se reunió con el presidente del Gobierno, Mariano Rajoy. Durante el encuentro, Tavares expresó la voluntad del Grupo PSA de perennizar su dispositivo industrial en la Península Ibérica, invirtiendo en tecnologías de futuro para modernizar sus fábricas. Un trío de plantas, que ha demostrado, en numerosas ocasiones, tanto su flexibilidad como su competitividad Tras conocer la visita que Carlos Tavares efectuó el pasado martes a los equipos que desarrollan el proyecto conjunto de Opel y el Grupo PSA en Zaragoza, Mariano Rajoy destacó que el Grupo PSA se convertirá en el primer fabricante de automóviles de España, una vez concluido el proceso de adquisición de Opel. Carlos Tavares, the CEO of Opel’s new parent company, visited Spain at the beginning of May — which coincided with the launch of the Crossland X — and met with Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy. During their meeting, Mr Tavares expressed PSA Group's willingness to underwrite the future of its manufacturing base on the Iberian Peninsula by investing in new technology to modernise its factories — three plants which have proven both their flexibility and their competitiveness on numerous occasions. After hearing about the visit Mr Tavares made last Tuesday to the teams who are developing the joint project between Opel and PSA Group in Zaragoza, Mr Rajoy pointed out that PSA Group will become Spain’s biggest auto manufacturer once the purchase of Opel is complete.
