At Hexagon they stress that SFx Asset Management offers easy access to the status of coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) and generates usage reports. They add that this development provides easily understandable visuals of the data in real time, with intuitive navigation and a customisable alert system. The software unlocks the data generally encrypted in individual CMMs to provide a real-time view of the operation, use and status of multiple CMMs in one or several locations. A web and mobile dashboard offers real-time visibility of the status, availability and operating status of CMMs, in one or more locations. Hexagon MI highlight the fact that manufacturers can move from managing resources to becoming a cost centre optimising equipment profitability and value creation. In addition, the data added by SFx Asset Management can be used to schedule the maintenance schedule and identify the causes of downtime. With the new solution it is also possible to quickly identify where there is reserve capacity, as well as obtain a vision of how the systems are used. Taking into account that SFx Asset Management is cloud based, it is possible to access information from any PC, smartphone or tablet. Software for resource management plays a decisive role in optimising the overall equipment effectiveness, OEE. As the name implies, OEE identifies the level of effectiveness of the machines. It can be calculated either for a single individual coordinate measuring machine or for a series of CMMs in different periods.
