In addition to the cultural events held annually in San Sebastian, like the Quincena Musical (Musical Fortnight), the Heineken Jazzaldia (Jazz Festival), the International Film Festival, and San Sebastian Gastronomika (Benchmark of Haute Cuisine), there are also increasingly more conventions held in the capital – many of which place special emphasis on science and medicine. In 2018, the city even hosted the Executive Council of the World Tourism Organization.the epicenter for these meetings is the Kursaal Convention Center,which can host thousands of people in its auditoriums and exhibition areas.

In order to offer quality lodging to conference guests and speakers who visit the Kursaal throughout the year, the Arrizul Hotels chain got a project underway in 2017, known as Arrizul Congress. The Arrizul Congress is the high-end hotel that is nearest to the convention center, and all of its facilities are geared towards maximum comfort for the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions) traveler. The hotel has its own meeting room, in addition to a parking area and a gym.apart from its café, where only breakfast is served, the Arrizul Congress also has a free coffee corner.

Its 46 rooms are divided into four categories: Deluxe Double,

Duplex Suite, Suite, and Congress Suite. All of the rooms feature free Wi-fi and a complementary minibar. Unlike many other hotels that have recently opened, the Arrizul Congress has been able to respect the natural character of the building and the surroundings in which it is found, restoring the building’s century-old façade and the original architectural details of its interior.

The Arrizul Congress is less than a five-minute walk from the Urumea River, the Zurriola Beach, the historic center of San Sebastian, the Old Town, and –of course– the Kursaal. The district in which it is located, Gros, is one of the most popular ones for sampling “pintxos” (Spanish finger foods),

thus making a stay in this hotel a good choice at any time of the year.
