The history of golf in the French Basque Country dates back to many decades ago. In 1888, the Biarritz Golf Club was opened, a course where high-society parties and large sporting events began to be held, being attended by the best players of the time, distinguished members of international aristocracy, and Kings Edward VII and Alfonso XIII. This beautiful course has fast greens and discreet rough, extremely varied terrain, and a higher difficulty level than one would first imagine.
