Porsche Museum

-

Henri Parent, porsche sportscar collector, wanted to share his passion for these vehicles with the entire world by opening his own museum for this iconic German brand. The place where he decided to locate it is probably the most unexpected of all: Domaine de Chahatoa, Bidarray – a small, idyllic village in the French Basque Country.

The permanent collection consists of 18 cars and includes gems like the 911 SC Targa, a Carrera GT, a 930 Turbo, a 911 R, a 356, and the 918 Spyder supercar. So much horsepower also needed a suitable place to be shown off, and where better than in stables? So, Henri turned the stables of an old country house into this sportscar museum.

In addition to the cars belonging to Parent, there are also other curiosities on display like a tractor made by Porsche in the 1960s and vehicles that belong to other collectors, as the museum offers a caretaking service for exceptional cars.

Those who come to visit the museum can also eat at the same estate, in the Lore Ttipia gastronomic restaurant located inside a seventeenth-century country house. The restaurant has an exquisite selection of wines and a seasonal menu prepared by Chef Manon Grasset, as well as a terrace that offers panoramic views of the 45 hectares of Domaine de Chahatoa. The estate also has its own five-star hotel, Ostapé, which features 22 suites distributed over four buildings located at different places in the valley.the property is topped off with a wellness area that has a heated outdoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna, Turkish bath, gym, and massage rooms.

A visit to this museum seems like the perfect excuse to spend a weekend amidst nature and enjoy the food, luxury accommodation, and beauty of the fastest horses in the world.
