Local entrepreneurs Colin Jones and Anouk Dekker are often seen in and around Albir with small groups of British sporting children, running through the streets or training on the beach. Their company Premier Sports Holidays specialises in bringing sporting, dancing and martial arts stars of the future to sample the sporting delights on offer here on the Costa Blanca.

This year was always going to be an exciting one with their new Spanish office opening in Albir this summer. The excitement has now grown after the pair are ready to welcome 4200 athletes.

October 28 will see Premier Sports Holidays bringing a group of 1500 competitors from 46 countries to Albir to take part in the WKU World Karate and Kickboxing Championships. All 1500 will be housed in hotels in Albir.

November 5 will see them bring an even more impressive 2700 competitors from 74 different countries to compete in the Unified World Martial Arts championships taking place in the main Benidorm Sports Centre with all athletes staying in Benidorm hotels.

Colin is no stranger to the Martial Arts world. Practicing since the age of 3, a former champion and owner of one of the UK's largest martial arts organisations he has served his apprenticeship over many years.

Anouk, born and bred here in Albir has also had the sporting bug for many years. A former dancer, windsurf instructor and football referee, she has used her passion for sports and her ability to speak many languages to entice sports people from many a country.

Speaking from her Albir home Anouk told us, "although I was born and raised in Albir, I have never taken its beauty for granted. Bringing groups of sports stars of the future here and seeing them enjoy our wonderful facilities, mountains and coastline makes me very proud".

Premier Sports Holidays already have many bookings to bring 100s of teams and schools here throughout next year to practice a multitude of sports. To keep up to date with this year's competitions why not follow them on Facebook or visit the website:
