ALICANTE HOGUERAS
The awaited Hogueras fiestas in Alicante are on now!
They have started wit hthe celebrations for some weeks now but the big events will take place as from June 19th, when the children's monuments will be set; and as from then there will be mascletàs every day at 14.00 at the Pl de los Luceros square, until Saturday, June 24th at 00.00 (midnight) when the last monuments (the adults hogueras) will be set on fire as an end to this year's fiestas.

Saturday, Jun 10
At 22.00: Ninots parade.
Sunday, Jun 11
At 12.00: Giants and dwarfs parade through the city.
Friday, Jun 16
At 20.00: Fogueres small market inaugurated on Avda. Federico Soto.
At 00.00: 'The arrival of the Fire' Light, sound and fireworks show.
Saturday, Jun 17
At 19.00: Music bands parade with the fiestas 'Belleas'
Sunday, Jun 18
At 12.30: Hogueras cultural get together on Avda. Alfonso X el Sabio. Monday, Jun 19 At 00.00: Children's Hogueras will be placed.
Tuesday Jun 20
At 00.00: Aldults hogueras are placed and the streets are decorated. Traditional snacks will be offered.
Wednesday, Jun 21
At 8.00: Waking up parade. At 12.00: Tribute to Gabriel Miro.
At 13.00: Tribute to José María Py.
At 19.00: Flower offering procession.
At 22.00: Music, bar service and more till late at the 'Barracas'
Thursday, Jun 22
At 8.00: Waking up parade. At 11.00: Prizes and awards cermony and parade.
At 19.00: 2nd Flower offering procession.
At 22.00: Music, bar service and more till late at the 'Barracas'
Friday, Jun 23
At 8.00: Waking up parade. At 13.00: Giants and dwarfs parade.
At 19.00: Popular dances at the town hall square.
At 21.00: International folkloric parade.
At 22.00: Music, bar service and more till late at the 'Barracas'
Saturday, Jun 24
At 8.00: Waking up parade. At 13.00: Giants and dwarfs parade.
At 20.00: Official Hogueras mass.
At 00.00: Spectacular firework display from the Benacantil mountain. and the burning of the hogueras in the usual order and many other firewoks to accompany the burning.
From Sunday, June 25 to Thursday, June 29: International fireworks contest on the Postiguet beach, everyday at midnight.
