Walks to rediscover the Mediterranean
Walkers in Calpe can enjoy two beautiful walks where nature, sea views and fresh air go hand in hand with unforgettable panoramic views. These are the Voramar trails, which wind amongst the cliffs parallel to the sea.
The Voramar-Borumbot walk goes from Manzanera urbanisation to the Arenal-Bol beach or to Plaza Mayor, by the Borumbot urbanisation, walkers can enjoy the magnificent coastal views as well as the unique buildings designed by Ricardo Bofill in Cala La Manzanera. This is an easy walk that starts in Avenida Virgen del Carmen, passing in front of Casa del Mar and then descending until we take a road on our left. Taking this road we will then reach a crossroad, where we will take the road on our right taking us to the entrance of Balcon al Mar urbanisation, which is where the path starts, this takes us along the edge of the cliff and down to the houses in Partida Borumbot, continuing to descend until Arenal-Bol beach. It’s worthwhile, at the start of the walk, to take time to admire the unique buildings, designed by renowned architect Ricardo Bofill, in La Manzanera urbanisation,
The Voramar-Calalga or Bassetes walk goes from the top end of Cala Calalga until Les Bassetes yacht club, next to Cala Mallorquí. The route begins in the street parallel to Cala Cabalga. Here we find an information panel for the trail indicating that in approximately 15’ we will reach Les Bassetes port. The path, which has a protective handrail, descends towards the Cala. Almost immediately there is a staircase that allows us to access Cala del Mallorquí, here you will find another information panel. The walk allows us to enjoy the magnificent coast views and to discover little coves that give us an intimate and wild view of the Mediterranean.
