Two women danced on car roof as expat drove it around town

THE DRIVER of a car filmed with two youngsters dancing on its roof as it went through the streets of Jávea was scheduled to appear before a judge today (Friday, April 20).

Dancing on the ceiling took on a different meaning as a social media clip of the women – both thought to be aged in their 20s – immediately went viral across Valencia.

The video was shot last Friday night, but because the number plate of the German-registered 4x4 was clearly visible in the film clip, local police officers were able to arrest the motorist the following day.

The driver – reported by Spanish media to be aged in his early 50s – and his two passengers, who live in the Marina Alta resort, were all said to be remorseful over the 'prank' and had not appreciated the dangers involved.

It is believed the motorist will face charges of endangering life by reckless driving – an offence that could result in a jail sentence as well as a lengthy driving ban. It is understood the ‘dancers’ will be called as prosecution witnesses.

The short film of the party lasted a minute and 14 seconds. During the journey, the women perform a series of moves to loud music as the vehicle slowly passes through the streets.

And while the action was filmed by a passenger in a following car, it is not known who shot the film.
