Several towns to march united this Sunday in Alfaz del Pi

A LEAFLET has been published in six languages by Benissa council which is aimed at the prevention or the reporting of gender violence.

The presentation, which took place last week, was made by Paula Sánchez de Pazos, a member of staff from the department of equality.

She was joined by María José Sánchez and Noraila Ripoll, representing the Women's Centre, which is an organisation that works to collaborate and create information resources.

Published in several languages, from Valencian, Castilian, Arabic, English, Romanian and German, the creation of the resource guide addresses the responsibility of the public authorities to work on equality, sensitise the public, and offer a message of trust to possible victims, making resources available in an accessible way.

As well as the leaflet, the network of safe spaces in Benissa was announced.

This is under the premise that any public institution must be a space free of gender violence, where rejection to the issue is shown and commitment the victims is reinforced.

From the educational centres to public departments, the town hall, sports centres and the health centre, all of the public buildings in Benissa now make up the network.

Council staff who work alongside the public have already received training in the procedures to follow in the event of a situation of gender violence.

Belén Ivars, responsible for equality in Benissa, expressed her satisfaction for the new resources. “We want to introduce these new tools that we have created, always within our possibilities and competences, thanking all the departments that have been involved, such as the police, social services and the women’s centre, with whom we have coordinated to generate these resources”.

The leaflet is available in all public buildings.
