Impostor apprehended
A MAN who used six different identities to commit various offences has been arrested in San Fulgencio, informed the Guardia Civil.
A spokesman for the force explained that the 39-year old Polish suspect was also wanted by three different courts in Castellón, Denia and Torrente (Valencia).
He is believed to be a member of a gang that deals drugs and has lived in the Valencia region for at least 10 years.
Officers in Jávea were investigating him as they suspected he had been using false identification to rent cars and open bank accounts, which was confirmed after the Polish authorities corroborated that the identity he had used did not really exist, explained the spokesman.
It proved very difficult to establish his real identity, especially since on other occasions he had identified himself as a Slovakian or Slovenian and the fake documentation he had used was very high quality.
The information they had compiled confirmed the suspect had used six different identities, which showed that he was wanted by the three courts.
When the Jávea officers widened their search, he was found and arrested in San Fulgencio.
He even tried to use fake identification when he was being detained but the officers already knew about this identity.
They also confiscated a high-end car, five mobile phones and several false identification papers from him.
The suspect is accused of falsifying public documents and was denied bail by a court in Denia.
