ADDA symphony orchestra
First season of performances for new provincial ensemble
THE NEWLY-founded ADDA (Alicante provincial auditorium) symphony orchestra (ASO) commences its first season of performances this December.
It features a total of 43 professional musicians, 28% of whom are from Alicante province.
One of orchestra’s principle objectives is to bring classical music to all of the residents of the province.
This will be achieved in 2019 when they are scheduled to perform at 15 of Alicante province's’ municipal auditoriums.
ASO’s inaugural series of concerts takes place at the auditorium after which it is named.
Unless specified all concerts will be under the direction of Josep Vicent.

De las Grandes Sinfonías; with performances of Beethoven’s Symphony No 5 and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No 4
The Toy-Box by Debussy with staging by Etcétera puppet company
De la Noche; directed by Yaron Traub, with Varvara Nepomnyashchaya on the piano. Featuring A Midsummer Night's Dream by Felix Mendelssohn, Brahms’ Piano Concerto No 1, and Mendelssohn’s Symphony No 3 (The Scottish Symphony)
Romántica; with piano soloist Juan Floristán: featuring Rachmaninov’s Piano Concert No 2, and Brahms’ Symphony No 2
El Emperador; with Iván Martín on piano and co-directing, and Joan Enric Lluna on clarinet and co-directing. Featuring Prokofiev’s Overture on Hebrew Themes for clarinet, piano and strings; Beethoven’s Piano Concert No 5 (Emperor Concerto); Weber’s Clarinet Concerto No 1; and Prokofiev’s Symphony No 1 (Classical Symphony)
Leningrado, featuring Shostakovich’s Symphony No 7
Del Himno para el Hombre Feliz; with Stefano Bollan and Chano Domínguez on piano. Including works by Aaron Copland, Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, and Prokofiev’s Symphony No 5
