Jalon Valley Help concert raises €2,367

-

There was an expectation from the audience that the five choirs that were about to perform at the JVH fund raising concert at the Salon de Actos Municipal in Benissa would raise the proverbial roof and sure enough they did! It was an evening full of song from the valleys of Wales, through the classical and popular, and into the Barber Shop, something for everyone.

What had been a truly magnificent evening concluded with over 60 choristers from all five choirs coming together for a finale that raised the hairs on the back of the neck, and brought tears to the eyes, with a moving rendition of Jalon Valley Help’s adopted theme song ‘You Raise Me Up’.

The singing from the various choirs rolled off the stage like a tidal wave of sound that washed over the audience. For two hours the world seemed like a much better place to be, full of joy and happiness.

In thanking Valley Voices, Costa Barber Singers, Caprice, Dolce Diva and the Costa Blanca Male Voice Choir for giving up their time and providing such a wonderful evening Elaine Horton, President, also took time to thank the charities sponsors Blevin Franks and Grupo Garcia for having such faith in the charity to offer financial assistance.

When talking about the work of Jalon Valley Help and the assistance provided to those in need Elaine also commented “We'll have fun with you but we'll also brush away the tears and hold your hand in times of trouble and do our very best to make life a little better for the sick, hungry and those less fortunate than ourselves.Tonight has been a fabulous evening well done everyone and thank you!"
