La Finca Golf Society

Week ending November 17.

Monday's roll up a Stableford of the Yellow Blocks was won by Gavin Parke, results was as follows;

4th Dave Friedman (33), 3rd Jeff Ellis (33), 2nd Alex Duchart (34) and 1st Gavin Parke (35).

Nearest the pins were Jeff Ellis (3) and Derek Braid (13).

On Wednesday, we played a Stableford competition of the Yellow Blocks, results was as follows:

4th Jeff Ellis (33), 3rd Roy Nicholas (36), 2nd Stuart Tosh (39) and 1st, Mike Stott (41).

Nearest the pins were Ole Dibbern (3), Andrew Mills (6), Eric Owens (13) and Shaun Locke (16).

Good turnout for our Poppy Day tournament which was sponsored by Mick the Grip who each year raises money on behalf of The British Legion Poppy appeal, well done to all the members at the prize giving ceremony the society presented to Mick 210-00 euro towards his appeal.

The competition was Stableford of the Yellow Blocks due to the continuing maintenance of the Tee’s at La Finca. Fairways and greens very wet after all the overnight rain but course still in good condition

Results as follows for Saturday: 5th Gavin Parke (36), 4th Mick Elliot (37) 3rd Ivor Turkington (38), 2nd Jeff Ellis (40) and 1st Ole Dibbern also with (40).

Nearest the pins were Jeff Ellis (3), Neil Maidment (6), Shaun Locke (13) and Mick Ellliot (16).

No members 2's today but our guest Neil Maidment had one on hole 6. Best-dressed golfer was Russell Gordon.

Back to The Corner Flag Bar afterwards for food and presentation thanks to Steve and his staff.

La Finca Golf Society meets every Monday, Wednesday and Saturdays at La Finca with first tee time around 9 am. Saturday is main competition day with various competitions which are Spanish federated, to be eligible to play you need a handicap of 16 or less.
