Montgo Choral presentation to Cáritas
Montgó Chorale were delighted to present their traditional Christmas concert to a very appreciative audience at the Loreto church in Javea in December.
A full house joined in enthusiastically with some of the best-known carols and contributed extremely generous donations totalling €1,500 to the Retiring Collection for the Loreto Church’s Cáritas, helping the Charity’s work providing financial and practical help and comfort to local families in need.
On behalf of Montgó Chorale and those who attended the performance, the Choir Director, Jan Dewland, together with other steering group members, was this week very pleased to present the donation to Elly van der Wel of Cáritas (see picture).
The choir is currently rehearsing for its next concert, which will take place in Pedreguer on May 26, and would be delighted to welcome new singers – prime requirements are an ability to read music and an enthusiasm for the choir’s classical choral repertoire!
Among the programme items are Vivaldi’s Gloria and the beautiful Cantique de Jean Racine by Gabriel Fauré. This last piece has a very prominent tenor part and Montgó Chorale would particularly welcome male voices to increase the numbers in this section of the choir!
