U3A Marina Baixa AGM 2019

On Monday, January 28 the U3A Marina Baixa held their AGM at the Casa de Cultura, Alfaz del Pi, with 16 new members joining the Associatio­n at the meeting and a total of 100 new members during the last 12 months.

A total of 157 members attended the meeting, plus two visitors.

Following the meeting, several of the members went to Café Mar de España, in Albir, for a lovely meal.

U3A Marina Baixa caters for English speaking people, who are no longer in full-time employment, by providing activities and events, to meet the needs of its members. Weekly and monthly groups meet covering a wide range of activities - petanca, golf, classical music, watercolou­r, Spanish language classes, Spanish culture, intermedia­te bridge, ten-pin-bowling, guitar lessons, crafts, a writer's group, plus a walking group.

In addition, we have a Chaps and Chatter Group, a Solo Amigos Group and a Members Assistance Group.

These combined with a Travel Group, who organise day trips and short breaks, plus a Wine & Dine Group, who arrange monthly meals out for the members.

U3A Marina Baixa holds its general meetings on the fourth Monday of each month at the auditorium in the Casa de Cultura, Alfaz del Pi. The next Meeting will be on Monday, February. 25.

The doors open at 10am and the desks close at 10.50am for a prompt 11am start. Please come early to sign in and get your seat! The General Meetings are normally always on the 4th Monday of the month. If you have not heard of this Associatio­n and would like to join them, you can be assured of a very warm welcome.
