Villajoyosa hosts the fifth edition of the Costa Blanca Bike Race
The Centro beach will be the setting for the farewell party this Sunday of the Costa Blanca Bike Race.
The event, which celebrates its fifth edition this year, is part of the international calendar of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI)
Competitors can take part in two different categories: the Costa Blanca half bike race and ride, and Costa Blanca full bike race, which has four stages with a total of 55 kilometres and will take place between January 31 and February 3
Among the participants are internationally recognised sportsmen such as Ibon Zugasti and Purito Rodríguez, Héctor Barberá, Nico Terol and Josef Airam.
In addition, local cyclists Elena Lloret, Fernando Gonzalez, Víctor Sellés, Vicente Zaragoza and Quico Serrano will also participate.
"We are very happy that Villajoyosa town acts as the final stage of this cycling event so recognised worldwide," said Villajoyosa sports councillor José Ramón Uclés,
"During the event, participants will be able to enjoy the colours and landscapes that La Villa has to offer, as well as its Mediterranean climate.
"We encourage the public to come to the beach on Sunday to receive the cyclists on their arrival and enjoy the activities that have been prepared" added Sr Uclés.
