Benitachell finally gets resurfacing green light
VEHICLE owners around the urbanisations of Benitachell will soon be able to breathe a sigh of relief, as a resurfacing grant has just been approved. Benitachell council will receive €195,328 towards the cost of repairing and relaying asphalt on roads that urgently require attention in the surrounding area.
“I am committed to giving top priority to works that fulfil the principle of being financially sustainable. This will be the first step of a much more ambitious plan to be executed in the medium term, which will include the repair of all the most deteriorated stretches of rural roads, urban roads and the urbanisations” said the mayor, Miguel Ángel García.
“We are a new team, very committed and eager to work to improve the quality of life of residents. We are aware that there are streets that are very deteriorated. Our main objective is to improve the quality of life for all and we do not differentiate between the urbanisations and the urban area. We want Benitachell to have modern services” García added.
Grievances regarding the state of some roads on the urbanisations have been made for many years by frustrated residents and homeowners associations. The town hall is now working on a comprehensive technical report of the roads that require urgent resurfacing. Works in the areas of Camelias, Encinas, Dalias and La Joya will begin as soon as possible. According to the council, this will take a maximum of four months.
