World Day of Prayer

-

As always the World Day of Prayer is held on the first Friday of March. This year it will be on Friday, March 1 at 4pm organised by the Albir Church of England, for this area of the Costa Blanca.

This wave of prayer encircles the globe. Starting in Samoa as the sun rises and ending some 38 hours later in the Pacific as the sun sets over American Samoa, the service will have been translated into more than 95 languages in over 120 countries and islands as we are reminded that we have responsibilities in caring for this wonderful world we live in.

There is much more information on the UK website www.wwdp.org.uk

The World Day of Prayer is written by woman and this year by the women of Slovenia and is an open invitation to all to come to God’s table. ‘Come – Everything is Ready!’ is this year’s title. There will be an estimated 3 million people around the world that day in a service. This is not simply a day of prayer for women but for everyone who cares about our world and those who live in it.

We, the Costa Blanca Anglicans, look forward to seeing many people at 4pm on March 1 at the premises we use, the Norwegian Seaman's Church on Carrer Mart, Albir. There is plenty of parking and it is not far from the Hotel Rober Palas.

We look forward to seeing you there. There will be Slovenian refreshments to follow the service.
