Antiques in demand

- By Jack Troughton

Public demand and the thirst for discovering the treasures of yesteryear means an additional Costa Blanca antiques fair has been arranged for this month.

The popular Antiques, Vintage, Retro and Collectors Fair will take place at Salon Canor in Teulada on Sunday, February 24 – the first of six such events taking place at the venue in Calle Assagador over 2019.

The hall is already a sellout for dealers – both the regular supporters of the fairs and a number of ‘new faces’ – turning the venue into an Aladdin’s Cave for the day.

And, as ever, entrance to the fair and the off-road parking is free; food and drink are available throughout the fair which opens its doors between 09.00 and 15.00.

Organised by Sue and Paul Horey, animal charity AKIRA is the main chosen beneficiary but several local charities will be selling donated items.

Sue said: “We were asked by some of our regular vendors and visitors if we would organise an extra fair and always happy to oblige it has been arranged for this month.

“As usual we will be supporting AKIRA and several others of the local charities will also be joining us to sell items of interest.”

The remaining five fairs scheduled for this year are:

April 11; June 30; August 15; October 9; and December 6.
