What a wonderful life - local resident celebrates 101 years

-

Peggy Nutt’s 101st birthday party was held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Ciudad Patricia in Benidorm where she has lived for some 34 years and she celebrated with some of the other residents as well as relatives.

Peggy is the youngest of three boys and three girls. Originally from near the Oxford area, she married and moved to Scotland to be near her husband when he was in the RAF.

Her only child, Shirley was born in Scotland in 1940 and sadly as she has not been well she was not able to visit to celebrate with her mother.

During her life Peggy has run a hairdresser but gave that up due to asthma problems and started a florist shop, it would seem pollen was not a problem.

Peggy first came to Spain some 42 years ago and lived in Moraira for 8 years or so before moving to Ciudad Patricia approximately 34 years ago, a record resident!

Peggy has two nieces and two nephews in England who pop over to see her now and again!

Around 70 people joined Peggy to celebrate her birthday with music from Barry the Swing man, who got people dancing, including Peggy herself who was whisked onto the dance floor by Tony Page a fellow resident.

Peggy thanked everyone for making her day so special and for all the flowers and cards that arrived throughout the day.
