Stableford competition played at Oliva Nova on Tuesday April 16
We played a Stableford Competition at Oliva Nova for our 31 members and our 3 guests.
Our guests today were Pamela Cooke, Martin Cooke and James O’Connor and all were warmly welcomed by our Captain namely Mr Bill Pike. The guest prize was won by James O’Connor with 31points
The weather was perfect for golf with a lovely temperature and all the members rose to the game just like the temperature.
The competition itself was played with two divisions for handicap.
In the competition, the results for Division 1 were as follows:1st place Donna Green 38 points playing off 15.0 Handicap.
2nd place Danny Herron 38 points playing off 14.3 Handicap
3rd place Peter Jackson 37 points playing off 14.8 Handicap
4th place Paul Sankey 36 points playing off 15.0 Handicap
Results for Division 2 were as follows
1st place Fiona Sankey 38 points playing off 31.7 Handicap
2nd place John Evans36 points playing off 20.9 Handicap
3rd place Celia Cronin 32 points playing off 18.2 Handicap
4th place Bill Sykes 03 points playing off 25.2 Handicap
Well played to all the winners on such a cold day, and they were Danny Herron and Donna Green. Talk about keeping it in the family! Great playing from both of you
Nearest the pin at Hole No 5 with their second shot was Dave O’Connor with 6.54 metres, and at hole number 16, nearest the pin was James O’Connor with 2.66 metres.
There were three 2’s today, which reflects the better weather and they were by Penny Barden, Peter Jackson and Roger Brown.
The balls in the water competition, was not won today so it is a roll over until next week. The total number of balls in the water was only 68 balls.
In the match play event Brian Barden beat Mick Connelly by two holes, and Roger Miller beat Russ Peters by 3/1
