Cambridge certificates for students of English
ON FRIDAY September 20, some 50 students received recognition from the University of Cambridge for all the effort that they have made, in some cases for many years, to reach higher levels of understanding and correct use of the English language.
To celebrate their effort and their achievement of certificates, students attended a special presentation ceremony in La Nucía.
There, two very proud teachers, from La Academia Australiana, shook the hands of their students who they have guided through the process to reach their current level.
Family members, who have also been crucial in the whole process of this extra-curricular activity of studying English, were there to congratulate their children and share in their success.
As was said at the presentation, achieving a certificate from the University of Cambridge is something that not only takes skill but also an ability to handle an exam that requires a great deal from the candidate.
Each candidate is assessed on their understanding and use of English in the areas of reading, writing, listening and speaking.
The levels range from European standard levels of Pre-A1 through to C2 and can be taken by candidates as young as 7 years of age.
It is a requirement in Spanish universities to have a certified level of English, B1, which is not at all an easy level to achieve.
Of this group of students, 100% passed their exams, so smiles and congratulations were shared all round.
The students are now more motivated than ever to begin the process of studying and practising to reach the next level.
