Alfaz Fantasy Football League

-

Week 6

There was one Monday night game and a full Premier League at the weekend which produced for the Alfaz Fantasy Football League another blockbuster weekend with the average score soaring to a high of over 30 points.

For the 4th week running there was over 30 goals scored which brought the overall total of goals this season in the Premier League to 176.

There was also 8 clean sheets, 44 yellow cards (the highest so far this season) and 3 red ones going into the mix.

The three naughty boys were West Ham's Masuaka, Wolves Saiss and Arsenal's stand in full-back MaitlandNiles.

Kapur's team Napali Eleven became the 5th team to reach the summit of the A.F.F.L. this season when they replaced Keith's Max and Paddy at the top and took a comfortable 15 point lead over them and Isobel's team, The Bluebells who is in joint 2nd place.

Peter's We 8 Codheads and Dean's Showbiz are making a strong challenge for the number one spot while last week's top of the Tree Stephen's Vote for Pedro have plummeted down the league to 13th after only scoring 18 points.

At the very foot of the table young Romeo's team My Dad Supports Liverpool are just 1 point behind Bob's team The Strikers.

Isobel's team The Bluebells have taken back control of our Mark Carter Ladies Section with a slight 3 point advantage over Debbie's Foxy Filberts. Pauline's Vodka Army and Barbra's XI are in 3rd and 4th place.

Two teams are sharing the bottom spot with Lyn's Handbreak City and Gil's Kippax both 7 points away from Vina's City Link.

In our Junior League Harley's Ginger Ninjar have managed to keep hold of the top spot for the 2nd week running by keeping a fragile 4 point lead over Olly's 11.

These two teams have pulled away from the chasing pack and have opened up a 28 point gap between 2nd and 3rd place. It's a similar situation at the bottom with Romeo's My Dad Supports Liverpool falling 24 points behind Olly and Jim’s team.

Lee's team Athleticco Higgo have moved to the top of our Across the Costa's Golden Boot League by taking over from Stephen's Vote for Pedro who are now in joint 2nd place, with Dean's team Showbiz.

With so many goals being scored in this section is wide open with only 16 points separating the top ten.

Manchester City's Sergio Aguero hasn't let the 80 Fantasy League Managers who selected him by being the top scorer in this League with 40 points 5 more than his team mate Raheem Sterling.

Olly and Jim’s team have moved out of the relegation zone and left Vina's City Link fighting it out with Mark's Inter Rubber.

Keith's Max and Paddy have retained the top spot in our Champion of Champions League with a 9 points gap between them and 2 teams in joint 2nd place Lee's Athleticco Higgo and Pauline's Vodka Army.

Gil's Kippax are trailing Luna's Liver Birds by 16 points at the bottom and are in all kinds of trouble but then again it's early days.

Two teams have qualified for our monthly wine draw and they are our top scoring team which was Chris's Have a Emery Xmas, who waded in with a total of 62 points with a little help from Manchester City's Hat-Trick Hero Bernardo Silva who bagged 15 points.

The other team to make the draw is our lowest scoring team Simon's As Terribles who only managed to score 4 points in what was a high scoring week.

Manager of the month for September is being kindly sponsored by the Kathmandu Restaurant in Albir (Nepalese and Indian cuisine).

With one week to go it was all change at the top with Lee's Athleticco Higgo taking a 5 point lead over Dogdale F.C. Terry's Come on you Cockers are in 3rd place 1 point behind Scott's Dogdale.

Grahem's Fastpack-York and Chris's Have an Emery Xmas are also up there and are also in contention for this fabulous meal for 2 at this classy restaurant.

At the time of going to press I have not had time to collate all the scores in our K.O.Cup competition, but I can tell you a few shock results. The favourites Keith's Max and Paddy were knocked out by Harry's Heroes 37-28. 2nd Favourites Stephen's Vote for Pedro were thrashed by Eric's City Slickers 56-18 courtesy of Manchester City's 8-0 victory against Watford.

There is also at least one draw with Gary's Blue Moon F.C. finishing level with Lee's Athleticco Higgo in an amazing 60-60 tie.

All replays will take place next week.
