Marina Alta Golf

-

As with most golfing societies, guests are always welcome at the Marina Alta Golf society’s game at the Oliva Nova course as they are a refreshing change of faces and their golfing ability and their handicap is the subject of much talk as the game progresses. It was somewhat of a surprise on Monday October 14, when not just one or two guests showed up but 8 of them appeared, (did someone open a new box!) once introductions were made, they then joined the 12 society members in a singles stableford game.

Once again, the weather was at its best as the players teed off but a weather warning had been posted for the early afternoon. The results are as follows,

In 1st place with 37 points and playing off a 17 handicap was Keith Sindon just returned from his travels over the summer, well done Keith you must have found some time to practise during the summer months.

2nd place with 35 points was David Snelgrove playing off a 15 handicap,

3rd place on countback was Jenny Downs with 34 points and playing off a 28 handicap.

Taking the guest prize today was Dominic Fairclough with 37 points. Not bad for his first game on the course.

For another week there were no 2’s recorded today. NTP winners were, guest Frank Fraiser on hole 3, David Downs on hole 16, while guest Sam Gauci took the prize on hole 18 in two shots.

The Marina Alta Golf Society is a small but friendly group of players who play every Monday at the Oliva Nova course with first Tee time being about 10.40. If you want to join this friendly group of golfers as a guest then a warm welcome will be waiting for you.
