Last Wednesday’s competition was Individual Stableford which, apart from handicap adjustments, qualified for all Society competitions and also for the September/October Tarabula Champagne Challenge. As there was a public holiday today in the Valencian community, there was pressure on the availability of members’ teetimes. So, unfortunately, the number of to 32.

It was a very pleasant day for playing golf, with the heat of the summer gone, giving us temperatures from low 20’s in the morning to high twenties when we finished play.

It was a day where a score of low 30’s was dominant. 8 players came in with 31 points which was not quite enough for a place on the winners’ board. Jan and Pascale managed the extra point, awarding them 4th and 5th place.

Congratulations to the top five and especially to Eddy Fagg, today’s winner with a players was restricted good score of 37 points.

There were three twos today: Nino and Pascale on hole 8 and Eddy on hole 11. They received the customary golf ball.

The results of the main competition were:

5th place with 32 points off 26 hcp – Pascale Leroux

4th place with 32 points off 22 hcp – Jan Boultbee, beating Jan on the back 9

3rd place with 34 points off 16 hcp – Edi Rogers

2nd place with 35 points off 20 hcp – Jean-Paul Leroux

1st place with 37 points off 14 hcp – Eddy Fagg.
