International break 2

As the Premier League pauses for the 2nd International break of the season we can take an in depth look at what has happened so far in the 26th Alfaz Fantasy Footbll League.

The 80 Premier League games have contributed to the A.F.F.L. a total of 262 goals (32 more than last season) 45 clean sheets (one more than last season) 312 yellow cards (48 more than last year) and 12 red cards which is 2 less than last season. The referees have awarded 19 penalties which is 7 down at the same time as last year. Four of them awarded to Manchester United. (Just saying).

The Fantasy League got off to a great start with no less than five teams tasting life at the summit in the 1st eight weeks. Tony Red's team Miles Platting Swifts got off to a flyer by taking over the top spot for the 1st two weeks, then three teams Jayne's Up the Dale, Isobel's Bluebells and Keith's Max and Paddy all had a brief one week spell at the top until Kapur's team Napali Eleven took over and have held on to the summit for the last three weeks.

In our Mark Carter Ladies Section, four teams have been leader of the pack with Vicepresident United the early frontrunner then Up the Dale took over for a couple of weeks before Isobel's team The Bluebells climbed to the top and have been there for four weeks. Debbie's Foxy Filberts also spent a cheeky week at the summit in week 5.

William and Henry won our Junior League last season so it was no surprise when they took over the top spot in the 1st week but since then they have fallen by the way side. Frankie, one of our new Junior Managers took the top spot for the 2nd week but unfortunately he only lasted one week at the summit before giving way to Olly's 11 who has since shared the number one spot with Harley's Ginger Ninjar both spending three weeks at the top.

The 2nd season of our Champion of Champions League has been mainly dominated by three teams. At moment Keith's Max and Paddy are the Leaders but early on Macca's Albir Villains set the pace, then Pauline's Vodka Army led for one week before giving way to the present Leaders.

There have been six different teams who have been in pole position of our Across the Costa's Golden Boot League, Miles Platting Swifts started the ball rolling leading from the front for the 1st week and since then the summit has been shared between, Up the Dale, Albir Villains, Lucky Red F.C. Vote for Pedro and the latest Leaders Athletico Higgo.

It's already been an actionpacked start to the Premier League with Liverpool 100 % record keeping Manchester City at bay which reflects on our top Fantasy League Players. Manchester City's Sergio Aguero is the top player with a tally of 62 points to his name, the nearest Player to him is Arsenal's Aubameyang with 50 points. Top midfielder is also a Manchester City Player Kevin De Bruyne with 47 points followed by Mo Salah with 43. Liverpool have the top defender in Alexander-Arnold who has collected 28 points, one more than two players Leicester City's Pereira & Crystal Palace's Van Aaholt. Keeping clean sheets is the order of the day for our goalkeepers and surprisingly we have two top keepers at two less fashionable clubs. Burnley's Pope and Sheffield United's Henderson are joint top scorers with 19 points apiece. Amazingly only one Fantasy manager picked Henderson in his LineUp while four selected Pope.

Our top players in the Golden Boot League are as follows Sterling (42), Aguero (40) Abrahams (35) Aubameyang (35) and Sane (35)

The draw for the 1st round of our K.O. Cup is now up on our website and the favourites Napali Eleven will play 187th placed William and Henry 2 (what chance of a bit of giant killing there). Our top lady managers team Isobel's Bluebells (3rd) take on Almafra Canaries (109th) while our lowest ranked team, We are all Boro Arn't We (209th), take on the Mighty Peaky Blinders (40th). All ties to be played the weekend November 2. Any replays will take place the following week.
