Non-stop for U3A Marina Baixa
Busy weekend
This weekend was a very busy time for the U3A Marina Baixa.
Firstly, on Friday (Oct 25) we had a trip to Anna, where we visited the beautiful Palace, which was truly stunning, then we had lunch in the local Gastro Bar, followed by a walk around the very pretty Albufera de Anna lake, before heading back to Albir.
On Sunday (Oct 27) we had our “Ye Old Tea Shoppe” at the Alfaz del Pi, International
Day. This year we were in a different location, right outside the Casa de Cultura. As usual, there were some spectacular costumes, great dancing and atmosphere. Many thanks to all our ladies (and Men!) for supplying the cakes, buns, scones, etc which we sold at the event, raising over 300 euros for our Charity Fund.
October General Meeting
The Forum Mare Nostrum, Alfaz del Pi was the new venue for The U3A Marina Baixa to hold their Monthly General Meeting, on Monday, October 28 2019. There were 113 members in attendance, which included three new members and one visitor. Following the meeting, our speaker for the day was Faye Gallagher, from InterOptics, who spoke about the importance of both regular eye and ear tests, to pick up early diagnoses of a variety of illnesses.
Thirty-three members from the U3A Wine and Dine group then enjoyed a lovely meal at the Forum Cafe and had a 3-course meal with a drink, which was excellent!
U3A Marina Baixa holds its general meetings on the fourth Monday of each month in the auditorium at the Forum Mare Nostrum, Alfaz del Pi. The next
Meeting will be on Monday, November 25.
The doors open at 10am and the desks close at 10.50am for a prompt 11 am start. Please come early to sign in and get your seat! The General Meetings are normally always on the 4th Monday of the month. If you have not heard of this Association and would like to join them, you can be assured of a very warm welcome.
