Your International Golf Society near Valencia City, Stableford competition November 4 at El Bosque Club de Golf.

A high turnout and high winds ensured a testing game of golf for our members and visitors in our November competition. Easy conditions for our winner Pat Casserley who breezed through his game to return to the club house with 32 points and his first ever victory with us. Rune-Jan Bjornsen, our member from the land of fjords, was only one point behind to finish 2nd, while ever consistent Peter Howarth was 3rd with 30 points.

Our visitors enjoyed a close competition with Don Cubbon in 1st position and Mike Edwards (2nd) only separated by count back with 26 points. Veteran player Reg Ditchfield took home a bottle of (Sanatogen!) wine for winning the front 9 competition with 17 points while Rune-Jan Bjornsen added to his tally of prizes with 18 points in the back 9 competition.

Nearest the pin prizes went as follows:

Hole 4 Colin Cootes, Hole 8 Matt Quirk, Hole 9 Peter Howarth, Hole 11 Don Cubbon, Hole 12 Peter Howarth, Hole 14 Paul Wilcock

Happiest winner of the day was Les Cranston who crammed €53 into his pockets for successfully guessing that there would be 126 blobs (nil scores) on the day.

Our next competition is our Christmas celebration contest on Monday, December 2 at El Bosque with a 9.30 start.

As always new members and guests are welcome to join us for a friendly golf day at discounted prices.
