Einstein's 'Big Idea'

- By Jack Troughton

One of the modern world’s most influential minds, scientist Albert Einstein gave us the theory of relativity and actor Pip Utton brings the opportunity to discover the man beyond the classroom.

The equation E=mc2 is almost universally known and Jávea Players present a professional actor able to shed some light on the thinking behind the science.

However, do not expect a classroom lecture this one man show brings Einstein to life, complete with German accent, a sprinkle of oddness, and some wise words.

Utton is a hero of the Edinburgh Fringe and brings two of his monologues to the Costa Blanca - putting the scientist under the microscope in ‘Einstein’ and investigating Britain’s war time leader in ‘Churchill’.

Sir Winston was voted the Greatest Britain in history in a 2002 poll undertaken by the BBC and the play is an opportunity to learn more from school days to military service and the pedestal of political leadership - as well as the family man and artist.

Both shows come to life on the Jávea Players Studio Theatre at the end of the month. Churchill is performed on January 27, 28 and 29; Einstein is unveiled on January 30 and 31, and February 1.

Tickets are €13 and already selling quickly. Reserve seats through the website www.javeaplayers.com.

Restaurant La Cocina is offering an early pretheatre dinner at 18.00 on Friday January 30 and Saturday February 1. Visit www.lacocina javea.com for details.
