Results of the Captains ‘Drive In’ Held at Oliva Nova Golf Club Tuesday January 14 What a fantastic day to welcome our new Captain Brian Barden, when he held is ‘Drive In’ on Tuesday. The turnout was memorable 37 playing members, no guests this week we were full! This week we have pictures of Brian has he drives off for the first time as captain. Sadly, on this occasion his team didn’t win! His drive carried 132 yards and the winner, apart from his chosen charity, who guessed the nearest distance was Fiona Sankey.

The competitio­n was ‘team accumulato­r with 2, 3 and 4 scores counting. After a delayed start because of frost the weather was really good, the sun came out and some of the golf was pretty good as well. Prizes this week:

Balls in the Water: - Malcolm Cannon guessed correctly with 99, well done Malcolm.

Two’s: – No twos this week, so it’s a roll over for next week.

Nearest the pins went to: Mick Framer on hole 5, 4.51m 9 and Jean Taylor on hole 16, 3.91m

The winning teams were: 1st 118 points Nigel Siddall, Malcolm Cannon, Simon Fox and Jan Jones

2nd 114 points Michel Grin, Peter Hanks, Roger Miller and “A Ghost”

3rd 105 Points Donna Green, Steve Boyes, Peter Johnson and “A Ghost”

The ghost was chosen by a card draw 2nd place team drew Barry Carter and the 3rd place team drew Danny Herron.
