Alfaz Fantasy Football League

-

Week 20

The Premier League produced another high scoring week for the Alfaz Fantasy Football League managers when the full programme at the weekend and 1 F.A. Cup tie between Arsenal and Leeds gave the Fantasy League 28 goals, 7 clean sheets, 26 yellow cards and 1 red one, which was Arsenal's prolific striker Aubameyang who was dismissed by VAR when referee Paul Tierneys yellow card was over-turned.

Normal service was resumed last week, in terms of the Premier League teams going back to their stronger line-ups after resting players last week in the F.A. Cup. The average score was once again over the thirty mark.

Chris's team Promotion Again extended their advantage at the top of the A.F.F.L.to 19 points over 2nd placed Alli Barber, while Terry's Hannakins moved back into the 3rd spot relegating Kapur's Napali Eleven back to 4th. Bob's team The Strikers returned to the bottom spot of the league after having been away for the last eleven weeks.

They now trail Luna's Liver Birds by the small margin of 4 points.

Debbie's Foxy Filberts have taken over the summit of our Mark Carter Ladies section for the 2nd time this season and they have opened up a 17 point gap over last week’s leaders Hairnette.

Elaine's Dizzy Blonde have managed to keep hold of 3rd place but they are now feeling the pressure from 2 teams in joint 4th spot Liz's Cookies Crew 61 and former leaders of this League Isobell's Blue bells.

Lyn's Handbrake City have spent the last 3 weeks holding up the rest of the teams at the bottom although they are only 6 points away from Gil's Kippax.

In our Junior League two teams are dominating the proceedings, Luca's Lucky Red F.C. and Harley's Ginger Ninjar have a 64 point cushion over 3rd placed Santa Clara's Kickers.

Currently Lucky Red F.C. have a slender 5 point advantage over the Ninjars. At the other end of the table, Romeo's team My Dad Supports Liverpool are working hard to make up ground on Gian's Fleetpool, only 51 points separate them when only a few weeks ago the deficit was 65 points.

In our Across the Costa's Golden Boot League 95 Fantasy Managers will be upset at the news that Harry Kane will be out for most of the season. Martin's Marauders took over the top spot last week from Promotion Again and have now moved 7 points clear at the summit.

Down at the foot of the table, Kyle's All Stars are battling it out with Nathan's Delphin Bhouys, at the moment only 1 points separates them.

We have two more teams going into our monthly wine draw for January and they are our top scoring team for the week Arthur's Wombles who bagged 68 points and our lowest scoring team which was Two for the Road who could only manage a minus 2.

There is no change at the top or bottom of our Champion of Champions League, Wade's Alli Barber have a comfortable 38 point margin above Martin's Marauders while at the opposite end Luna's Liver Birds are still lagging behind Gil's Kippax the deficit now 18 points.

Manager of the month for January is being kindly sponsored by Jordi at the Kasbrane in Albir who provide a super international menu at reasonable prices as well as showing all the sporting events.

With just a couple of weeks gone Vina's City Link have taken a single point lead over Thrummy's Cool then comes Mak you are the Best and Gary's Hammered Again. Only 6 points separate the top 4, so it's all to play for in the coming weeks for this excellent meal for two at the Kasbrane.

Harley's team Ginger Ninjar is the only Junior team through to the last 16 of our K.O.Cup Competition after beating Dyson DC 11 47- 28.

While only three lady managers have got through with Kerry's Penfold Puffins, Janice's Janbo, and Barbra's XI all flying the Flag for the Girls.

The draw for the next round will soon be up on our website.

Our F.A. Cup League got started the other week with two teams sharing the number one spot.

Dave's team Patangyangkipper and Grahem's Laurel and Vardy are both on 37 points, which is 3 points above Shawn's Thrummy's Cool.

Old Salfordians are bottom of the table, with zero points.

Don't forget only points scored in the F.A. Cup ties count in this league.
