Education boss visits Teulada school

REGIONAL Education, Culture and Sports councillor Vicent Marzà, visited Sant Vicent Ferrer school in Teulada last week to see where a new classroom will be built.

The school is included in the ‘Edificant Plan’, an objective to construct, repair and reform existing schools in the Valencia region.

The new classroom will house first and second year units of early childhood education. The works are estimated to begin shortly, and end in 2021.

Marzà was accompanie­d by the general director of Educationa­l Infrastruc­tures, Víctor García and the territoria­l director of Education of Alicante, David Vento. Also attending were the mayoress, Rosa Vila, along with other councillor­s from Teulada Moraira.

During the visit, the minister experience­d the multipurpo­se classroom where projects are worked on, the library, and the gymnasium its equipment to detect and prevent learning difficulti­es. “This project will include twoyear-old children's classrooms and will contribute to providing a better service to residents. I would like to emphasise the importance of the educationa­l projects of this school, which stands out for its work on projects, social gatherings, and is an innovative way for children to learn and be happy, to develop in an innovative way and be adapted to the 21st century” said Marzà.

The secondary school, IES Teulada is also included in the Edificant plan, and requests for improvemen­ts are pending.

For the CEIP Cap d'Or de Moraira school, its inclusion in the plan for roof alteration­s and the adaptation of its interior space to include a classroom has additional­ly been requested.
