Save My Life 4

- By Irena Bodnarec

The fourth ‘Save My Life’ charity fundraiser will take place at the iconic Benidorm Palace on Sunday, March 8.

As in the previous years, all the money raised will be used by Benidorm Dog Homing and Manos y Patas, to help rehome abandoned dogs and cats. It is a lifeline for both, to help the hundreds of animals in their sadly sometimes not so temporary care, have a second chance in life.

The event has once again been organised by Dona Sandland and David James, who are both regular volunteers at the Benidorm dog pound and Palace owner Christine Climent, who has adopted a number of rescue dogs herself and generously offered the facilities free of charge.

There is certainly no shortage of Benidorm

entertainers, only too keen to offer their talents totally free for this very worthy cause. Most were at the Palace last week to drop off their playlists, in preparation of the big day, including a special appearance from Alma, Limon and Mila, three of the dogs currently being fostered from the pound. The line-up this year includes Jamie Somers, Sean Mac, Ben Ashley, Guy Melidoni, Kim Peters, Aisha as the Adel tribute, Blues Brothers, Mel & Dave, Colin Coco Channel, The Roller Maniacs, from the Palace illusionist David Climent, silk acrobat Lara Cano and biker stuntman Jonathan Rossi and hosting Tim Ames and David James.

Many local businesses have come on board, donating an array of items for raffles and box prizes - which went down particularly well last year, for which the organisers are truly grateful… so make sure you come armed with plenty of money on the day!

Tickets are priced at €10 and available at the box office, with doors opening at 12 noon. Food – chicken or fish & chips will be available for €8 plus a full bar service so you can make a day of it.
