Oliva U3A gets off to a flying start to 2020

-

With Latin Dance group starting and more groups on the way, this is looking like a fun year already! The newest addition is a Card-Making group to be held in Marxuquera starting on Tuesday, March 10am 10-1pm. So if you have ever wanted to make your own greeting cards, but don't have the equipment and need a little guidance then now is your chance to get creative. Please contact Ann at ann.dulat@gmail.com

In the pipeline is a Social Bike group, a Golf group and a Board Games group. They are also trying to organise more social meet ups like Luncheon or Theatre groups which can carry on through the summer to support the members who rely on through-the-year contact with other people. At the moment only six out of the 40 plus groups meet throughout the year, mainly due to the heat. So if you fancy chess or scrabble in July or August, please do get in touch.

Woolly Wonders- The Oliva U3A Knitting group is busy creating finger puppets for the U3A volunteers to use at El Bastidor after-school centre in Oliva for under privileged children. These will be used to help the children learn Spanish and English by creating new dialogue and introducing more vocabulary in a fun way. These finger puppets have so much detail and the knitters have been enjoying creating them.

The new ‘Find out More’ sessions held on a Friday at 11am in the Municipal Market for interested people to come ad chat with Oliva U3A members has been a great success. Each week has seen new faces and many have signed up for one of the busiest U3A organisations in the area.
