BENITACHELL has launched the fifth edition of the ‘Fotodona Photography Contest’. The aim is to publicise a personal vision of International Women's Day, which is on 8 March, through images that empower women. “We want to give women prominence in the visual field so that they can reach independence to access resources, recognition and decision-making in all spheres of personal and social life” said Victor Bisquert, councillor for equality.
The photographs submitted to the competition must include one or several women of legal age, at any time in their life regardless of nationality or culture. Each participant may submit a maximum of three colour or black and white photographs, which must be unpublished. The authors of the selected images must provide a signed declaration of ownership. If identifiable persons appear in the photographs, it will also be necessary to provide written consent. Any person, amateur or professional and of any nationality, aged 18 years and over, may participate.
The photographs must be presented in JPEG digital format with a maximum size of 5MB and a resolution of 300 dpi, as well as in printed form on photographic paper measuring 30cm by 40 cm. In addition, an entry form that is required by the town hall must be completed.
The selection and awarding of the prizes of the competition will be carried out by a jury appointed by the department of equality. The winning photograph will receive a prize of €200. There will also be a second prize of €100. The winning photos will be published on the town hall website and on social networks, with the name of the photographers. The deadline for submitting photographs ends on February 14 at 14.00.
The awards ceremony will be held during the afternoon of 13 March. The time and place will be communicated to the participants in advance. The rules can be consulted at https://www.elpoblenoudebenitatxell.com.
