Results of the Pego putter held in Oliva Nova golf on Tuesday February 11

Great day to be out on the course, cool to start with but when the temperature warmed it was just perfect for golf, and the first Pego Society ‘Major’ of the year. The course was good after the tinning a couple of weeks ago the greens ran true. We had six prizes this week, the competition was a bogey comp, where you play against the course and as is the nature of this competition it was very tight at the top, except for the winner, see the results below. Today’s winners were:

1st Winner of the Pego Putter Steve Crossan, pictured with the trophy - 4 up.

2nd – Stella Fox - 1 up

3rd Brian Baybut - 1 up 4th Feli Baybut - 1 up

5th Nigel Siddall - 2 down 6th Rob Westlands - 2 down The other nearest the pin prizes this week went to Stella Fox on hole 5 with her second shot finishing 3.05m from the pin, well done Stella. Colin Fox finished nearest on hole 16 with his tee shot finishing 4.42m from the pin.

There were three two’s this week, Jan Jones, Penny Barden and Michel Grin. Jan missed out on the prize though, she didn’t enter the two’s competition, never mind Jan, but do remember next week.

Next week, we will be playing our first ‘Major’ of the year, which was put back a week because of the hollow tinning, the Pego Putter, a bogey competition where you play against the course. Defending champion from last year Derek Lindley.

Finally, the photo shows some of this week’s winners, we do have some camera-shy members in Pego as they are not all there!

Next week’s competition: men playing of the red tees and women off the blues just for a fun game.
