GANDIA
THE OTHER VOICE EXHIBITION
Until Mar 20: US-born author and sculptor Kathryn Hart seeks to revive those 'Other Voices', those of strong women in history – Lucrecia Borgia and Venetian feminist writers, and women in Ancient Greece, like Aracne from the famous Velázquez painting.
And her exhibition in Gandia's Coll Alas hall, straight from the Biennale in Venice, shows her interpretation of history from 500 years of women's viewpoints – in black-and-white photos, paintings, statuettes and abstract structures.
One of her sculptures was actually created on site days ahead of the exhibition, and Kathryn (Texas, 1961) was there to cut the red tape.
The Other Voice is open until Friday, March 20 inclusive (entrance is free).
